He informed that the same has been categorically assured in the parliament by the central government. He said Article 371 provides special provisions to some states including Arunachal Pradesh to meet the unique needs of the backward areas, protect economic and cultural interests, combat the local challenges and protect the customary laws in these regions. Mr. Khandu added that on contrary to this, Article 370 was primarily divisive in nature. </span><br />
