In Arunachal Pradesh, the suspension of Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chawna Mein along with 5 other MLAs by People's party of Arunachal has brought again a political disturbance in the state. PPA President Kahfa Bengia informed AIR that a one-man committee has been constituted to probe in to the allegations leveled against CM Khandu and others. <br/><br/>On being asked if Khandu and others would retain their positions, Mr. Bengia said that if they wish they can stay as PPA MLAs without holding any portfolio in the future, and if found free from the allegations. He also did not refuse the chance of Takam Pario of becoming the next Legislature party Leader.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, BJP in a press conference today said that the suspension is unacceptable. Senior BJP Leader and State Industry and Cooperation Minister, Tamio Tagak informed media persons that PPA did not consult BJP before taking the decision. <br/><br/>Arunachal Pradesh government is a NEDA government as PPA is also a part of it and has the support of BJP. Mr Tagak stated that BJP will not support the leadership of any new leader. Standing in support of Pema Khandu, he said that BJP will support Mr Khandu if there is any floor test in the Assembly. He also said that Mr. Khandu has the support of 26 PPA and 12 BJP MLAs at present.
