Arunachal girl selected for National Bravery Award 2010

In Arunachal Pradesh, first time, the brave girl Ipi Basar has been selected as one of the awardees of the National Bravery Award 2010. She is the first girl from the state who will be honored with bravery award. The award will be presented by the Prime Minister in January next at New Delhi. Ipi will also participate in the Republic Day Parade 2011. In month of September last year, during the blaze in Nyigam village in West Siang district Ipi basar saved the life of 70-year-old completely paralyzed Yompu Basar and a 4 year old child. She jumped into the fire and saved the old lady and 4-year-old Pompi Basar, who refused to leave her granny. Ipi forcefully picked up Pompi first and entered the house again to rescue the motionless old lady. Her courage and determination helped her to pick up the woman. For her brave act, the state government had already felicitated her.
