Arunachal CM’s body recovered

The body of the Arunachal Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu and four others have been recovered from the helicopter crash site near Tawang. After four days of intense search for the Chief Minister’s missing chopper, rescuers located the crashed chopper and recovered all the five bodies. AIR Itanagar correspondent reports that a local search party discovered the wreckage alaongwith the bodies in a high altitude area between Kyela and Lugutang near Tawang. Union Minister for Development of North Eastern region B.K. Handique said in Itanagar that a relative and panchayat leader of Khandu's Assembly constituency has identified his body. The minister, however, said that only after the Divisional Commissioner takes charge of the body and the formalities are completed, they could officially confirm the news of his death.He added that the body of the Chief Minister would be sent to his home village in Tawang, but last rites will be performed simultaneously at Tawang and Itanagar with state honours.
