In Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu on Thursday exhorted all the major 26 tribes of Arunachal Pradesh to work in unity as a Team Arunachal for making the state stronger in future. He was addressing the 4th general conference of the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh, a major organization of the indigenous tribes in the state.Opposing forceful conversion to any religion, the chief minister said that indigenous religious identity of the innumerable tribes of Arunachal Pradesh needs to be protected and preserved for posterity. He cautioned the vested interests to restrain from misusing religion for their ulterior motives and said strong action would be taken against the missionaries involved in such acts.
