Arunachal CM & two others got elected unopposed; nomination withdrawl in poll-going states ends

Arunachal Chief Minister, Mr. Dorjee Kiandu, and two other candidates are likely to get elected unopposed to the State assembly. The State election authorities are yet to confirm their election. Meanwhile, the electioneering has pick up in the remaining seats with leaders of various political parties going from house to house seeking the support of voters.<br/><br/>Battle lines have also been drawn in the two other states of Maharashtra and Haryana with the time for withdrawal of nominations over. In Maharashtra, 66 candidates have withdrawn from the contest on the final day leaving 311 candidates in the fray. The contestants include prominent leaders of the ruling NCP Congress combine and BJP-Shiv Sena and stalwarts apart from Samajwadi Party and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.<br/><br/>The BJP today released today its manifesto for Haryana assembly polls. It promises compensation to the farmers whose crops were damaged by natural calamity, provision of transparent and honest government and construction of pakka houses for those leaving below poverty line apart from insurance cover to them. The party is contesting all the ninety seats in the state.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that political parties are preparing plans for their senior leaders to address election rallies in the three states. While the ruling parties are seeking vote on their performance, the opposition parties are mostly raising the issues of rising prices and the impact of drought on the common man.<br/>
