Arun Jaitley calls for easier norms for MNCs, competitive taxation policies

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said India must become more competitive in a range of areas including infrastructure and taxation. Addressing at the convocation of Management Development Institute in Gurgaon yesterday, Mr Jaitley said, steps like providing stability in taxation policies will not only boost economic growth but also help in creating jobs and raising revenues for the government. He said, the best response to poverty eradication is high growth rate. Mr Jaitley said, sluggish economy cannot eradicate poverty and it can only distribute poverty. The finance minister added that the country must become competitive on a global level. He said, there is a need to make entry point into India easier for large global corporations to grow and for large Indian corporations to become global. He also stressed on maturity of political decision makers, the maturity of political process in reaching the correct decision rather than creating hurdles.
