Arun Jaitley calls for business, investment-friendly policies in West Bengal

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, has urged the West Bengal government to adopt a business-friendly, investment-friendly policy to restore the original tradition of Bengal. Addressing the ?Bengal Global Business Summit in Kolkata today, he said, political differences would not hamper the development in the state. <br/><br/>Dwelling on various opportunities like intellect, natural resources and geographical position of the state, Mr. Jaitley said, West Bengal contributed 6-7 percent of total GDP in the country.<br/>Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, illustrated various steps taken by her Government for industrialization in the state. She said, land map and land bank have been created and the state government had formulated a land policy.<br/><br/>Among others, Shri Suresh Prabhu, Union Railways Miniter, Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister, Delhi, Tshering Tobgay, Prime Minister of Bhutan, Smt. Preeti Patel, Employment Minister of Britain, Tofail Ahmed, Cabinet Minister, Bangladesh and top industrialists were present in the occasion. The two-day Conference is organized by West Bengal Government.
