The Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) Court in Mumbai has convicted gangster turned politician Arun Gawli in the murder of Shiv Sena corporator Kamlakar Jamsandekar.The Special Court also convicted 11 other accused in the case while acquitting three for lack of evidence. Arguments for the quantum of sentence will be held on Monday.The Shiv Sena corporator was shot dead in March 2008 at his residence in suburban Ghatkopar. Gawli was arrested on May 21, 2008, and has been in custody since then.
