Art should not depend on the state but it should be rewarded by the state: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the art should not depend on the state but it should be rewarded by the state. Inaugurating the newly built complex of the Bombay Art Society, he said it is duty of the state to reward the artists. He said the art should be a part of power of the society. Mr. Modi said the art plays a significant role in full development of personality. Prime Minister said the art is important in this age of technology. He said we have to think about how to inculcate humane values in the coming generations and art is the only medium for this. <br/><br/>Mr. Modi also stressed on the digitisation of the art works and processes. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and NCP Chief Sharad Pawar also addressed the function. Mr. Fadanvis said that the state government would extend all possible help to establish the centre of Lalit Kala Academy in Mumbai. State's Governor Vidyasagar Rao was also present at the function. Mr. Modi also released two books on this occasion. Bombay Art Society was established in 1888. Several renowned artists have been associated with the society. The newly built complex has three galleries. Paintings of artists born between 1960 to 1947 have been displayed in an exhibition here.
