Arrest warrants issued against 16 UP politicians & community leaders for inciting violence in Muzaffarnagar

In Uttar Pradesh, a local court in Muzaffarnagar district today issued arrest warrants against 16 politicians and community leaders for inciting violence through inflammatory speeches in Muzaffarnagar. The warrant was issued against one BSP MP and BJP and BSP MLAs, besides several politicians and senior community leaders.

Police said, the leaders include BSP MP Qadir Rana, BJP MLAs Sangeet Som and Bhartendu Singh, BSP MLAs Noor Saleem and Maulana Jameel, Congress leader Saeeduzaman and BKU chief Naresh Tikait. Senior Superintendent of Police Praveen Kumar said, action will be taken against them in two days. He said that they have arrested three to four politicians and have collected some evidence and added that whoever is guilty will be arrested in two days. Police said, they are wanted for violating prohibitory orders and provoking communal tension by inflammatory speeches during different meetings in the district.

A senior official said, ten police teams have been rushed to arrest those against whom warrants have been issued.
