The Colombo Fort Magistrate has issued an arrest warrant for Dhanuna Tilekaratne, son-in-law of retired General Sarath Fonseka over the alleged Hicorp transaction. At a media briefing today the police spokesperson SSP Jayakody said that Criminal Investigation Department ( CID) this morning had opened the safety lockers of Dhanuna Thilakaratne’s mother, Asoka Tillkeratne in her presence and reportedly found over five lakhs US dollars , 100 sterling pound and 15 million Sri Lankan rupees as well. The financial intelligence unit of the bank has been asked to investigate as to how such a large amount of foreign currency was transacted.Dhanuna Tillkeratne, the General’s son-in-law, has been accused of indulging in arms deals through Hicorp company allegedly belonging to him in Oklahoma in the USA. Reportedly his company is said to have supplied arms, ammunition and several other items to the Sri Lanka Army while General Fonseka was its commander.
