Government on Monday termed the arrest of suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorist Fasih Mohammad as a very important catch. Talking to reporters in New Delhi Union Home Secretary R K Singh said, Saudi Arabia fully cooperated in his deportation to India.
Giving the first official reaction after Fasih's arrest by Delhi Police at the Indira Gandhi International Airport , the Home Secretary said India had submitted material evidence” against Fasih to Saudi Arabia to press its demand
for deportation for his involvement in various terrorists acts in the country.
Replying to a question on the security situation in the country, he asserted that Security agencies are fully alert to foil any attempt by terrorists to disturb peace during ongoing festival season.
Home Ministry has directed all state governments to deploy additional security forces in crowded and sensitive places, including markets, religious places, railway stations and bus terminals, which could be targets of militants.
About a fortnight ago, the Delhi Police busted a terror module of Indian Mujahideen by arresting three militants who were planning to target the national capital and Bodhgaya during the festival season. There have been intelligence reports that some HUJI militants had sneaked into India through India-Bangladesh border recently to create disturbance during the festival season.
