Arrangements being made to evacuate Indian nationals from Libya

Concerned over the worsening situation in Libya, Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao has said that arrangements are being made for air and sea evacuation of Indian nationals stranded in the country. She was speaking to newsmen after an emergency high level meeting on modalities to evacuate 18,000 Indian nationals trapped in Libya.Earlier, a report from Tamil Nadu said that a 42 year old contract worker employed with a Korean group has been killed and another seriously injured in gunfire during the anti-government violence in that country. The report further says, the fate of 22 others from the state is still not known.
