Around 8 lakh 36 thousand crore rupees have been transferred as funds to states during 2015-16 as against 6.77 lakh crore rupees during 2014-15.<br/><br/>An official release said there was a phenomenal increase in the tax devolution to the states due to increase of share in the divisible pool of taxes from 32 per cent to 42 per cent as per recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission.<br/><br/>So far, 4.11 lakh crore rupees have been released to the states by way of tax devolution.<br/><br/>Apart from this, nearly 45 thousand crore have been released so far towards revenue deficit grants, local body grants and grants under State's Disaster Response Fund. Besides, around 1.72 lakh crore rupees have been allocated to states till January 2016 as part of Central share towards State plan and Centrally Sponsored Schemes under different sectors and programmes.
