Around eight thousand people have returned to their homes in the last 24 hours from relief camps in the violence hit areas of Assam.With this, the total number of inmates who left camps has gone up to 2 lakh 15 thousand. Another 2 lakh 57 people are staying at 223 relief camps in Kokrajhar, Dhubri and Chirang district.A Central team on Wednesday visited relief camps in Kokrajhar district and took stock of the relief and security measures. The team met people at the relief camps. They also held discussions with the of the district administration officials.Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi also held a meeting with the senior citizens of the state in Guwahati.No untoward incident has been reported in the violence marred areas since Saturday.
