Secretary General of Association of Radio Operators for India AROI, Uday Chawla has hailed the e-auction of phase-III of FM radio. He said the process of auctioning is very transparent and well organised. Saying it is good for the survival for the radio industry, Mr Chawla said the government will get a minimum of 500 crore rupees from the auction. Mr. Chawla said that if the FM radio enters into small cities, economic opportunities will increase for the people and improve the social-economic development of the area by exchanging new ideas. <br/><br/>The third phase of FM radio auction was started on 27th of last month which has completed 40 rounds of bidding on August 7. In the first batch, 135 frequencies are being auctioned in 69 cities. Till now, the cumulative provisional winning price has reached 946 crore rupees against the aggregate reserve price of 425 crore rupees.
