Army's L. Nawachand has won the 31st Indira Marathon held at Allahabad today. The marathon was organized on the occasion of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's Birth anniversary today. L. Nawachand belongs to Pune center of Army. He clocked 2 hours 23 minute and 51 seconds. <br/><br/>In women category, Ms Jyoti Shankar Rao Gawate of Maharashtra won the marathon. She completed her race in 2 hour 52 minutes and 43 seconds. <br/><br/>The marathon also coincided with the theme 'clean Allahabad -Green Allahabad'. On this occasion, a cross country race for boys and girls and veterans above 45 years of age was also organized along with Marathon.<br/><br/>The Indira Marathon is being organized since 1985 on the birth anniversary of India Gandhi. People from various walks of life paid tribute to Indira Gandhi at Anand Bhawan and adjoining Swaraj Bhawan.
