Army to sponsor UG courses, school education to selected children, youth from J&K, Ladakh under AWES

The Indian Army will sponsor undergraduate courses and school education to selected children and youth from the Union Territories of Jammu and  Kashmir and Ladakh in residential schools and colleges functioning under the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES)  as part of Operation Sadbhavana.<br />'' <br />''The initiative is aimed at providing quality education to deserving candidates from the Union Territories and offer them opportunities and exposure to acquire requisite competence and capability for a secure future.<br />'' <br />''Ministry of Defence in a statement said that a total of  50 seats each have been earmarked for boys and girls of classes 8th  and 9th  in two Army Public Schools  at Beas in Punjab and Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand for the academic year 2021-22. <br />'' <br />''From 2022-23 onwards, these 100 seats will include seats in Army Public Schools in Dhaula Kuan in New Delhi,  Noida in Uttar Pradesh and Dagshai in Himachal Pradesh.<br />'' <br />''The Ministry said, six vacancies, two each in Army Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology and Army Institute of Fashion Design at Bengaluru, Army Institute of Nursing at  Guwahati and Army College of Nursing at Jalandhar will be made available in academic year 2021-22.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The colleges will offer Bachelors' Degrees in Hospitality, Fashion Design  and Nursing  only  for girls.</span><br />
