In Jammu and Kashmir Security Forces achieved a major success when they smashed a militant hideout in Ramban district and recovered large quantity of arms and ammunition. According to Army sources, acting on a specific information, Army and Police launched a joint search operation in the Khari region of Tehsil Banihal in District Ramban and located a militant hideout in the forest areas of Waomal. A massive search was carried out at the hideout, one Under-Barrel-Grenade Launcher, 15 UBGL Grenades, 100 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, 10 meters cordtex wire, 6.5 Kgs of RDX and four detonators were recovered from the militant hideout. The recovery of cordtex wire, RDX and detonators reveals the terrorists designs to fabricate an improvised explosive device (IED). Army sources believe that the cache was stashed away either by the Qari Zuber group (eliminated on 08 Feb 11) or by the Abu Musa group (eliminated on 24 Apr 11), prior to the onset of winters last year.
