Army should be given full command over deployed areas: V. K. Singh

Army chief General V. K. Singh has said that Army should be given full command over the areas where it is to be deployed. He stated that majority of allegations pertaining to human rights violations against army personnel were false and frivolous in nature. General Singh was talking to media persons during his visit to the India Military Academy to attend the reunion of the officers who passed out from IMA forty years back. He said that legal protection is must for army personnel akin to what is available to the local police force. He said that certain safeguards need to be in place in the form of the Armed Force Special power act during deployment of the army.<br/>
