The Centre has expressed the hope that the Army wil be de-requisitioned from the Kashmir Valley in the next few days. Speaking exclusively to AIR, Union Home Secretary GK Pillai said that the situation was improving and the curfew was also holding well and the Government was keen to withdraw the Army at the earliest. The Army was called in recently at the request of the State Government following incidents of violence.<br/><br/>The Home Secretary said that the LeT, Hizbul Mujahideen and the separatists elements have been making efforts to disturb the peace and create public disorder.<br/><br/>Pillai also said that a number of intercepts clearly point out that large sums of money is being sent to create trouble and to indulge in stone pelting in the valley. He also said that 12 cases of illegitimate sources of money have come to light and action has been taken in this regard.<br/><br/>He said that the Government was open for talks with all shades of opinion. The Government was holding talks with moderate Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik when the vested interests disrupted the process, he added.
