The mortal remains of Naik Bakhtawar Singh were consigned to flames at his native village Hajipur in Hoshiarpur district of Punjab with full state honour. He attained martyrdom during unprovoked firing by Pakistani troops on the Indian posts yesterday in Naushera sector. <br/><br/>Punjab Cabinet Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Deputy Commissioner Vipul Ujwal and prominent personalities of the area paid tributes to the martyr and shared grief with the bereaved family. The martyr is survived by his wife and three minor children.<br/>'<br/>Mr Bajwa announced Rs 5 lakh financial aid to the bereaved family and construction of a gate in the memory of the martyr.
