Army helicopter carrying three persons crashes in Nagaland

In Nagaland, an army helicopter carrying three persons, has crashed near Kohima. Confirming the crash, defence sources said the chopper was on a daily sortie from Rangapahar GOC 3 corps in Nagaland to Imphal in Manipur when the accident occurred at around 8.30 this morning. Official sources told AIR Kohima that immediately after the crash, local villagers who were pressed into the search operation, recovered two bodies while the third body is yet to be found. Amidst heavy rainfall and inclement weather, a joint search and rescue operation by the Army, state police and fire brigade along with local villagers is still on.
