In Jammu and Kashmir, a major tragedy was averted today with the timely detection of an IED on Jammu-Poonch road near Poonch Town. The road opening party of army found the IED weighting 1.5 Kg planted under the road during checking this morning in Kanoiyan village of the border district of Poonch. Later with the help of bomb disposal squad, the explosive was diffused safely and traffic was resumed. A major search operation has been launched in the area by security forces as a precautionary measure.
