In Jammu and Kashmir, Army foiled an infiltration bid on the Line of Control, in Jhangar Sector of Rajouri District, in Jammu division late last night. According to Defence Spokesman, Col. R. K. Palta troops deployed on the Line of Control, observed suspicious movement of three persons. As the persons came closer to the post, they were challenged by troops. The persons went into hiding in the bushes and opened a burst of small arms. The drain troops retaliated. The exchange of fire stopped after 2 to 3 minutes. The intruders probably retreated taking advantage of the darkness and thick vegetation. A search is on.
