In Jammu and Kashmir, Army troops have foiled an infiltration bid by terrorists by killing one of them when they were trying to sneak into Indian Territory from Rani Gali in Gambir area in Balakote sector in Poonch district. According to the Defence sources, the troops noticed a movement of 3 to 4 terrorists in Rani Gali area of this borderdistrict last night at about 12:30 am. Troops chased them up to Tarkundi area and challenged them to surrender. However, the infiltrators opened fire on the security forces which was also retaliated by Indian troops. In the ensuing gun battle that lasted for about 30 minutes, security forces gunned down one terrorist, while others managed to flee. In the search operation which started in the wee hours today, security forces recovered one dead body of terroristswhose identity is yet to be ascertained. In the gun battle one rifleman Sujit KP of 43 RR also received injuries when he accidently stepped over a drifted mine. He has been hospitalized.
