In Jammu and Kashmir, Army deployed along Line of Control (LoC) in Sunderbani sector foiled an infiltration attempt in the early hours today. Defence sources told AIR that the troops deployed along the LoC detected the movement of terrorists along the LoC.<br/><br/>The alert troops engaged the infiltrating terrorists with effective automatic fire while drawing heavy retaliatory fire. One of the terrorists was eliminated in the operation while the others in the group fled towards Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.<br/>The body of the eliminated terrorist has been recovered with a weapon and ammunition. Foiling the infiltration bid by the Army assumes significance in view of the intelligence reports of likely terrorist attacks in the wake of upcoming republic day.
