An Army Court of Inquiry has indicted a Colonel for “outraging the modesty” of a Major rank officer, setting the stage for his court martial. The Inquiry against Colonel Anurodh Mishra was initiated after the Major filed a complaint accusing him of molesting her during their posting in Jammu and Kashmir in 39 Mountain Division of the Army. After looking into the lady officer's complaint, the Court of Inquiry headed by a Brigadier has recommended disciplinary action against Mishra. This would mean initiation of court martial proceedings. In his defence, Mishra accused a Lt Colonel of using the lady officer against him due to personal enmity. In an attempt to seek relief, Mishra approached the Armed Forces Tribunal, contending that the allegations against him were false and a false case is foisted against him. However, the Tribunal refused to entertain Mishra's plea.
