Indian Cricket Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra were on Tuesday conferred the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army by Army Chief General V K Singh in New Delhi.According to an official release, they have been bestowed the honour for their outstanding contribution in the field of sports and their commitment to Army on various occasions. Dr Deepak Rao, a trainer for combating terrorism, has been also been conferred the honorary commission in the rank of Major in the Territorial Army.
