Army completely withdrawn from trouble-hit areas of Muzaffarnagar in UP

In Uttar Pradesh, the army has completely been withdrawn from all the trouble-hit areas of Muzaffarnagar and Shamli, as the situation is fast returning to normal. Paramilitary forces have replaced the army in all those areas. Strict vigil and other security measures, however, remain in place in the entire trouble-hit region.
Meanwhile, Muzaffarnagar district authorities denied permission to Majlis President Asaduddin Owaisi from visiting the trouble-torn area yesterday.

The government said, its special team continued to look for those who have been booked for their involvement in the clashes.

District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma said, the administration is now focusing its energies on rehabilitating over 40,000 persons displaced from their homes due to violence. The DM said, the process of distributing compensation to the victims is also continuing.Our correspondent reports that as part of the relief and rehabilitation exercise, the state government on Tuesday ordered that one member of every affected family be identified as a beneficiary for a monthly pension of Rupees 400 under the Lakshmibai pension scheme.

The government also said persons whose houses were destroyed during the communal conflagration will be allotted houses under the state government's Lohia Awas Yojana. Besides, the local administration has been asked to send a list of one dependent kin of each of the deceased, who as per government announcement have to be given jobs.
