The Army Chief General Vikram Singh today reached Pune on a two-day and reviewed operational readiness of the Southern Army Command. General Singh interacted with senior functionaries of the Command and addressed the officers of the station on the contemporary challenges facing the Army and the collective efforts needed to overcome them. The Army Chief emphasized on value based leadership reiterating the Indian Army’s ethos of commitment and professionalism.
A Defence Ministry release said, for the first time, about 3000 officers in 24 stations of the Command were able to view the Army Chief’s address through a real time video link. General Singh assured the ex-servicemen of concerted efforts towards amelioration of their problems during this Year of Veterans.
General Singh will visit the National Defence Academy tomorrow and thereafter proceed to Bhopal to review operational preparedness of the Sudarshan Chakra Corps and address all Army Officers of Bhopal Military Station. The Army Chief will also call upon Madhya Pradesh Governor Mr Ram Naresh Yadav.
