Army Chief reaches J&K to review security situation

Army Chief Dalbir Singh today visited the Northern Command based in Udhampur to take stock of India's operational preparedness along the border in the wake of heightened tension following the surgical strike targeting terror camps across LoC.<br/><br/>Gen Singh chaired a high-level meeting to review the situation and operational preparedness in Jammu and Kashmir,<br/>including along the Line of Control, PTI quoting a Defence official said.<br/><br/>The surgical strike, was planned and executed by the Northern Command.Army Chief also personally complimented officers and men who successfully targeted seven terror launch pads located in Leepa, Tattapani, Kel and Bhimbar.<br/><br/>He is scheduled to visit army's Western Command in Chandigarh to review operational preparedness.

To review the security scenario in the aftermath of surgical strikes and future strategy by the troops, Army chief Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag reached Northern Command Headquarters at Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir this morning.<br/><br/>According to Defence sources all top Commanders of the Army deployed in Jammu and Kashmir were present in the meeting.<br/><br/>Army chief would also review situation developing on the borders in the aftermath of surgical strikes including ceasefire violations by Pakistan Army and ensure measure to retaliate any misadventure from across the LoC .<br/><br/>Army Chief Singh also personally complimented officers and men who<br/>"successfully" targeted seven terror launch pads located in Leepa, Tattapani, Kel and Bhimbar ,reports PTI.<br/><br/>Gen Suhag would leave Northern Command for Western Command in Chandigarh in the afternoon, where also he would have similar review of security situation along the borders with Pakistan.
