Army Chief General Bikram Singh has lifted the discipline and vigilance ban imposed on Lt. Gen. Dalbir Singh Suhag. Lt. Gen. Suhag is the commander of three Corps of the Eastern Command.

The ban was imposed on Lt. Gen. Suhag by the previous Army Chief Gen. VK Singh on charges of failed security operations in Assam. Lt. Gen. Suhag is in line to head the Army in 2014 after the retirement of Gen. Bikram Singh.
