Army Chief General Dalbir Singh paid homage on the mortal remains of Sepoy Vijaya Kumar K today. Kumar had lost his life in an avalanche triggered by a mild earthquake in Kargil sector last week. In a solemn wreath laying ceremony at Base Hospital Delhi Cantonment , General Singh expressed his deep condolences to his family and stated that the Army is proud of soldiers like him.<br/><br/>Army rescue teams had managed to recover the mortal remains of the soldier from under twelve feet of snow on the third day of a grueling search operation. The cremation ceremony of the brave soldier will take place tomorrow tentatively with full military honours at his village in Thirunelvelli district of Tamil Nadu.
