Army Chief exudes confidence that situation in Kashmir will be brought under control soon

Army Chief General Rawat today exuded confidence that the situation in parts of troubled south Kashmir will be brought under control soon. Addressing a media conference in Hyderabad, he said there should not be any reason for cause of concern now. He said, youth in troubled areas of Kashmir are now realising that what security agencies are doing is for bringing peace and tranquility. <br/><br/>He said, security forces are doing great job in the troubled parts of Kashmir and taking every action required to restore peace. Replying to a question, General Rawat said, army cares for human rights and always makes sure human rights are maintained in Kashmir or anywhere it undertakes operation. He said, Army is people friendly and it acts when situation warrants.<br/>Earlier, addressing the newly commissioned flying officers at the Combined Graduation Parade, General Rawat emphasised the importance of core values of the Air force – Mission, Integrity and Excellence.<br/><br/>General Rawat exhorted the passing out cadets to uphold these core values in professional as well as personal lives. Stating that the armed forces should maintain integrity, he said, if society does not trust its defence forces, it will be difficult for the nation and it's military to protect itself.<br/>General Rawat asked the newly commissioned officers to remain always alert to address the country's external challenges as well as internal security issues in the wake of country's rapid growth. General Bipin Rawat awarded 'Stripes' – Air Force ranks – to passing out cadets and administered the oath. <br/><br/>The Army Chief gave away awards to officers excelling in training. Flying officer K Koushik received President's plaque and also the Chief of Airstaff Sword of Honour for standing first in overall merit in pilot course. Flying officer Bhupindra Singh and Flying officer B Lasya Vadana were awarded President's plaque for being first in overall merit in navigation and ground duty branches.
