<span style="color: #222222;">Chief of Army staff General MM Naravane dedicated to the people the memorial of Param Vir Chakra awardee Captain Manoj Pandey at his native village Rura in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh. He was on a two day visit to the central command Lucknow.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The memorial was constructed under aegis of Surya Command and was dedicated by General Naravane, in presence of the family members of Captain Manoj Pandey and senior Army officers, government officials and ex-servicemen. Captain Pandey had laid down his life in 1999 Kargil war.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Gen Naravane also visited Central Command Headquarters at Lucknow and was briefed by Lieutenant General IS Ghuman, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Central Command on the state of operational preparedness.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Army Chief expressed satisfaction on the efforts being made to ensure capability enhancement and operational effectiveness to meet all contemporary and emerging challenges.&nbsp;</span><br />'' &nbsp;<br />
