In Jammu and Kashmir, an Army captain, who was injured in an encounter with militants in Sopore town of Baramulla district, succumbed to injuries today. The army officer was injured when militants opened indiscriminate firing on security forces, who had launched an operation in Model Town area of Sopore, 52 kms from Srinagar, last evening. The encounter is still on and at least two Lashkar militants are suspected to be hiding in a house in the area.
