Army authorities have expressed deep regret at the loss of life of a 13 year old boy, Dilshan in the incident which happened in the old fort Glacis officers enclave adjacent to the Fort St.George in Chennai yesterday. In a press release issued in Chennai today, the Army termed it as unfortunate and has clarified that there was no armed guard located at the compound at anytime. The press release also stated that the Army is in close co operation with the local police authorities in the joint investigation to identify the culprit and bring the individual responsible to justice. The matter is being investigated both by the Crime Branch, CID and the Military Police. Officials from both sides inspected the crime scene and are conducting inquires at various levels. The funeral of the boy passed of peacefully in the city today.
