Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the Indian Science Congress 2015 at Mumbai University. Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Modi said the arms of technology and scientific innovations should reach the poorest of the poor.
He said that though science is universal but technology is local and we should develop affordable and sustainable technologies for the betterment of human being. He stressed on enhanced researches in the field of Bio-technology, Nano Technology, agriculture, clean energy, medicine and clinical researches.
This year's theme of the Congress is Science and Technology for Human Development. The five-day event will witness deliberations and presentation of papers by the scientific fraternity from across the globe.
More than 12 thousand delegates are expected to participate in the session. Few Nobel laureates including Nobel Peace Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi, a number of eminent scientists and Resource Persons from India and abroad have been invited for Science Congress.
