In Pakistan, armed men looted a convoy of relief goods in the flood-hit Kalabagh area of Punjab province. This is the latest in a series of such incidents in the region where people are desperately awaiting aid. The looters also thrashed staff of the government-run National Rural Support Programme who were transporting the aid. According to reports, the NRSP sent several trucksloaded with relief goods for distribution in Daudkhel, which has been badly hit by the flooding in the Indus river.Police said, it was yet to be ascertained whether the looters were flood victims or criminals. The local administration has asked donors to contact it before distributing relief materials in flood-hit areas toavert such incidents in future.
