Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda has won the by election of Kharsawan assembly seat. He defeated his nearest JVM rival Krishna Gagarai by a margin of 17 thousand votes. Mr. Gagarai also had the support of Congress party and was projected as the combined candidate of the opposition. Kharsawan seat was vacated by BJP Mangal Singh Soy so that Mr. Munda could enter Assembly in order to continue as the Chief Minister of the state.
