Arjun Munda all set to become Jharkhand CM

Arjun Munda is all set to be the new Chief Minister of Jharkhand. Mr. Munda's name has been cleared by the BJP central leadership to lead the coalition Government in the State along with the JMM and AJSU.

BJP sources said in New Delhi today, though the name was to be announced yesterday itself but it was put off because of the death of former Vice Presdient Bhairon Singh Shekhawat.

Mr. Munda has been asked by the central leadership to ensure support of all JMM lagislators, especially the disgruntled ones for a smooth floor test. The sources further said, both the BJP and JMM have agreed to share Chief Ministership for 28 months each on rotation basis.

The JMM has also accepted BJP demand to have the first shot at power under the power sharing deal. Our correspondent reports, it will be third time that the Jamshedpur MP, Mr. Arjun Munda heads the 82 member assembly. Mr. Munda who was in Delhi, has left for Ranchi to muster necessary support for himself and convince Sibu Soren to resign.

AIR correspondent reports, though the break away leader from BJP Babu Lal Marandi tried to convince JMM superemo Sibu Soren not to resign but to strike a deal with him and congress to form a coalition Govt with Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay as the Chief Minister, Guruji had to give in before his son Hemant Soren.

Though Shibu Soren popularly known as Guruji has offered to resign as soon as the BJP finalises its candidate, nothing could be predicted about his intentions.

Even the Congress leadership in Delhi was surprised as to why Guruji dumped BJP to favour Congress on cut motion which led to the turmoil. The tribal dominated state has seen seven Chief Ministers in nine years with the eighth to take over in a few days time and no one knows when the ninth one will take over.
