In an apparent reference to Pakistan, India has said, arguments of political convenience to provide an alibi for terrorist organisations are no longer tolerable. ””Speaking at the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation (SCO) Council of Defence Ministers' meeting in Beijing yesterday, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman raised the issues of cross-border terrorism, extremism, cyber security and narcotics trafficking. ””She said, these issues require solutions based on co-operative frameworks that involve all countries and stakeholders. ””Mrs Sitharaman also asserted that there is a need to adopt an uncompromising approach towards the persisting threat of terrorism in Afghanistan. ””She added that India is committed to assisting Afghanistan in regaining stability, including co-operation in building capabilities of the Afghan security forces. ””The Defence Minister urged the SCO member states to work towards greater co-ordination and move towards peace and stability.
