In Football, Argentina and Chile today stormed into the semi-finals of Copa America.In the first last-8 game of the day, Argentina defeated Venezuela 4-1.Gonzalo Higuain found the net twice for the tournament favourites, with Lionel Messi and Erik Lamela being the other goal scorers.In the other quarterfinal, Chile thrashed Mexico, 7-0. Eduardo Vargas scored 4 of the goals, with Edson Puch netting a brace, and Alexis Sanchez also on the score sheet.With this, all the four semi-final berths have been decided.In the first semi-final, hosts United States will take on Argentina on Wednesday. The second semi-final will be played on Thursday between Colombia and Chile. The Final is slated for the 27th of this month.Meanwhile, in the UEFA Euro Championship in France, Cristiano Ronaldo missed a late penalty as Portugal were held to a goal-less draw by Austria in a Group-F game in Paris last night.Austrian goal keeper Robert Almer made some excellent saves denying Ronaldo on several occasions.This was Portugal's second consecutive goal-less draw of the tournament and Group-F is still wide open.Hungary, which drew with debutants Iceland 1-1 last evening, currently top the Group.Earlier in Group-E, Belgium defeated Ireland, 3-0 to strengthen their chances of advancing to the last-16 stage.Later tonight, in the final two Group-A fixtures, France will take on Switzerland, while Romania will meet Albania. France has already made it to the last-16 stage.The second team to qualify from the Group will be decided today.
