Are people without Aadhaar non-existent, Supreme Court asks govt

The Supreme Court has asked whether homeless people who do not have Aadhaar cards are non-existent for the Centre or the Uttar Pradesh government and will they not be accommodated in shelter homes.<br/>'<br/>The court was hearing a matter relating to providing shelter to the urban homeless across the country. It asked the Uttar Pradesh government how Aadhaar cards of the urban homeless were being made. <br/><br/>Additional Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the UP government said, they have other identification cards like voter IDs which contain their address. <br/><br/>He said, the state was aware of the situation and trying its best to ensure that all such persons are accommodated in shelter homes.<br/>''''''''''''''''<br/>
