Archana Ramasundram becomes 1st woman to head paramilitary force

Tamil Nadu Cadre IPS officer Archana Ramasundram has become the first woman to head a paramilitary force. Ramasundram was yesterday appointed as the Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal, SSB, that guards India's frontiers with Nepal and Bhutan. 58-year-old Ramasundram is currently the Director of National Crime Records Bureau. <br/><br/>Besides her, IPS officer K Durga Prasad has been appointed Director Generals of Central Reserve Police Force. Another IPS officer K K Sharma will be new Chief of the Border Security Force. <br/><br/>
