India won One Gold and two silver medals in the Arafura Games at Darwin in Australia. The gold was clinched by Pinki Jangra in the 51kg boxing caegory when she beat Siona Fernandes of New Zealand 18-13 in the final. The 21-year old pugilist was also awarded the 'Best Boxer' title for her fine performance in the tournament. India's two silver medals came through Meena in the 60kg and Pooja in the 75kg divisions. Both of them lost the final bouts in their respective weight category. Yesterday, Vijender Singh (81kg) and Olympian Akhil Kumar (56kg) lost their semi-final bouts to settle for bronze medals in the men's competition. Indian boxers thus ended their campaign with a gold, two silver and an equal number of bronze medals.
