The Arab League has decided to form a ministerial committee to help solve the crisis in Syria. According to Egypt's official MENA news agency the league decided that the committee, which includes members from Jordan, Tunisia, Qatar and Oman as well as Arab League chief, will visit Damascus with an Arab initiative to solve Syria's crisis. In the special meeting of Arab foreign ministers in Cairo, which lasted into the early hours of Sunday, Arab foreign ministers warned that Syria is witnessing a dangerous crisis that requires Arab cooperation to overcome it. During the meeting, the foreign ministers also talked about the issue of Libya, calling on the United Nations and countries in the world to unfreeze Libya's assets. They also urged the United Nations to give Libya's seat in the world body to the National Transition Council (NTC). AIR West Asia correspondent reports, Syria is facing serious international and internal pressure due to anti-government protests, which started in March this year. While the Leaders of the United States, France, Germany and Britain have recently urged Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to step down, the Arab League has now decided to form a ministerial committee, which will carry out an urgent mission to Damascus and transmit the Arab initiative to the Syrian leadership to resolve the crisis. While urging the respect of the Syrian people's right to see political and social reforms, the Arab League also said that the stability of Syria is crucial to the stability of the region.
