Arab foreign ministers have agreed to back the resumption of indirect Palestinian-Israeli talks. Speaking at a meeting in Cairo, the foreign ministers said there must however be a four-month time limit to the talks. Talks between the two sides have been stalled for more than a year. The move was quickly welcomed by the Israelis and comes after months of separate negotiations between the US and both sides. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said he would accept the decision of the Arab foreign ministers and the principle of indirect talks.
